TRANSITING THE PANAMA CANAL (7th day of our journey)
As you know it is an amazing feet of engineering! Hard to believe that it is 100 years old?
The transit has taken all day and of course we listened to the commentary and watched as the ship was guided through the locks 6 in all.
Tomorrow we will b in Peru.
Posted a map of the world in Galilee Bistro and have a short resume on each place you are visiting. Going over it all with the residents daily. They are so excited!!! Thanks for brightening up our lives. As we discussed the Panama Canal, one of the residents told me she wrote a letter back in 1978 to Jimmy Carter about his decision to give it back to Panama. Always a good starting point for conversation, and you never know what they are going to share!!! Joan
